The Odyssey by Homer, adapted by Tim Mucci

There are a number of graphic novel versions of The Odyssey. This one stands out for being pure fun.  That Tim Mucci dedicates the book to his parents, who "never told me to stop being weird," and Ben Caldwell (pencils) to his mother, who "let me read the weirdest books as a kid" should tell you something about their approach to the story

The art is colourful and cartoony, the monsters managing to be both menacing and ridiculous at the same time. The action takes off, and it's a non-stop flight from adventure to adventure all the way home.

After 10 years away at war, Odysseus wants nothing more than to return to his family. Thanks to some angry gods, though, he'll have to outwit and battle his way past monsters and a sorceress, and even journey to the underworld if he ever wants to see his home again.

Great read-a-like for any Percy Jackson fans.
