Psyren by Toshiaki Iwashiro

For months people have been disappearing, and rumour has it that a secret society called Psyren is behind it.  Ageha isn't terribly interested in it until a classmate of his disappears.  Her last words to him were, "Save me!" and Ageha is determined to find her, no matter where his search leads him.  Unfortunately for Ageha, Psyren is real, and his search sends him to a strange world, where deadly monsters roam a vast wasteland, and his only way home is through them.

This is shonen manga, but girls who like plenty of action, life and death stakes, and conspiracies will also enjoy it.  Suggest to teens who like Claymore.

There are at least 16 volumes in the series, with nine released so far in North America, and three more available to preorder on Amazon.  Psyren has appeared on a number of best-selling manga lists in Japan, so I'm expecting to see good circulation on this series once word gets out that my library has it.
