It's almost time for one of my favourite things about summer to start: SYNC's annual audiobook bonanza. Every summer they give away two free audiobook downloads a week. They pair current a YA book with a classic on the same theme. There's a download schedule up on the site, and I have to say that this summer's list look great. I can't wait to download Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor, and they're offering one of my all-time favs: Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy. Since nearly every teen in my town owns an iPod, you can bet I'm going to be promoting this one heavily.
This year SYNC has added the Overdrive Media Console app so you can download and enjoy the books on your mobile device. There are a few rights restrictions, which means you can't download certain titles in certain countries, but everyone will be able to download over half of the titles. If you live in the US, you can download every single book they offer this summer. If you live in Canada, like me, there's only one title you can't download. There's a list here detailing who can download what, if you're curious.
Each pair of books is available to download for one week only, so make sure you check the site regularly this summer, or you could miss them. SYNC is aimed at teens, but there's nothing to say that you can't download yourself some fabulous summer reading!
