The Canadian Library Association has announced its 2012 shortlists for Book of the Year for Children,  Young Adult Book Award, and the Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbons Illustrators Award (better known in my library as the Amelia Bedelia award, as we can never get the name right).  Sadly, the only one I've read is Barbara Reid's Picture a Tree.  Shame on me for missing out on a whole slew of fabulous Canadian fiction!  I shall have to fix that immediately.
